The sculpture depicts a nude girl with her arms raised above her head. The curve of the torso and position of the arms create a flowing line through the entire figure. The pale marble is softly worked without excessive detail, emphasizing the unity of the silhouette and smooth transitions of volume. The figure is mounted on a yellow-stone base decorated with relief images of a chariot and rider. The warm tone of the base contrasts with the pale marble. Together with its companion statuette “Nude in Contemplation,” this work forms a small decorative ensemble.
