The sculpture depicts a nude girl with bowed head and hands raised toward her neck. The flowing contours of the figure and soft modelling of the body are emphasized by the smooth surface of the pale marble. The warm color of the base and its expressive natural veining contrast with the almost white figure. Relief decoration on the base, reminiscent of vegetal scrolls, adds a further decorative accent. Together with its companion statuette “Nude with arms above her head,” this work forms a small sculptural ensemble.
