Inside on the lid, a monogram mark of the tax collector Henry Clavel (1780-1789), maker's mark of Charles-Alexandre Bouillerot (1769-1791) "CAB under a crowned fleur-de-lis and two dots", Parisian date mark "S under a crown", corresponding to 1781. Inside on the bottom, the same marks in order - maker's mark, tax collector's mark, Parisian date mark - poorly legible. On the bezel, a poorly legible mark, probably - a guarantee mark used before 1798 "eagle's head turned left", mark of the tax collector Henry Clavel (1780-1789) in the form of Minerva's head.
The gold snuffbox features an oval-shaped body with a grid of circular polished indentations on panels featuring a guilloché surface in the form of wavy lines of rose gold, and a hinged lid. The central panel of the lid and the bottom panel of the base are surrounded by a border of wavy and dashed lines, smooth grooves, and a track of protruding oval wreaths and relief beads on a stippled surface of yellow gold, repeated along the front side of the lid. Under the lid, there is a tobacco compartment with a mirror-polished surface. The panels of the side surfaces are separated by inserts depicting garlands and ribbons of yellow gold on a stippled surface with circular indentations, and are complemented at the bottom by a decorative band with a regular ornament.
