The gold snuffbox features an oblong body with rounded side facets, with a grid of circular indentations on a surface featuring horizontal fluting, and a hinged lid. Under the lid, there is a tobacco compartment with a mirror-polished surface. The panels of the lid and the base are framed by a border of laurel branches with berries made of two-colored gold. The panels of the sides are separated by inserts depicting classical urns entwined with garlands of lemon-tinted gold, and are complemented at the top and bottom by decorative bands with a regular ornament.
