    Rectangular gold snuffbox with rounded corners, fitted with a hinged lid. Struck into the top of the lid is a rectangular painted miniature featuring a three-quarter bust-length portrait of a blue-eyed gentleman turned to the left, wearing a blue coat, a white waistcoat, and a knotted white cravat. The portrait insert is enclosed within an ornamental border defined by a narrow band of blue enamel. The rim of the lid is decorated with a frieze depicting a trailing stem with blue enameled leaves and flowers, while its corners are accented with stylized palmettes. The sides of the lid feature a border of semi-circles with half-flower rosettes against a blue enamel ground.
    The sides of the body are decorated with rectangular reserves featuring regular geometric engine-turned patterns, framed on three sides by an enameled dentil band. The base of the snuffbox features a large rectangular insert filled with concentric geometric guilloché (circles), enclosed within a wide frieze depicting a trailing stem with blue enameled leaves, flowers, and corner palmettes.
