An oval-shaped gold snuffbox with a hinged lid. The sides of the body are decorated with four octagonal reserves featuring translucent blue enamel over a guilloché ground, enclosed within smooth white enamel borders. The pilasters between the enamel inserts are adorned with raised elements in the form of stylized capitals. The lower third of the body is accented by a frieze of leaf garlands and rosettes. A similar raised frieze decorates the rim of the lid, the flat central panel of which is adorned with a large oval medallion filled with translucent blue enamel over a sunburst or netted guilloché ground.
