Table desk stand (inkstand) executed in the Neo-Russian style. The set consists of a cubic cut-glass inkwell and a square jasper base with a silver mount. The inkwell is made of colorless transparent cut glass and is fitted with a silver neck mount and a hinged lid. The body is decorated with complex carving in the famous Russian stone cut and multi-ray rosettes. The narrow collar mount of the neck is adorned with raised scrolls and volutes. The rounded lid, sculpted in the shape of an onion dome of an Old Russian church, is decorated with a large chased ornament of two multi-petal flowers connected by diverging stems; the composition is set against a matted ground with textured dots and scroll-coils. Higher up the body of the dome runs a raised wave-like frieze. The lid is surmounted by a finial designed as a circular medallion with a stylized bud, set upon a lobed convex rosette.
The square base is crafted from sealing-wax red jasper [or: sealing-wax red marmorized limestone]. The stone base is fitted with a silver mount designed as a smooth, hipped applied plaque. Centered on the plaque is a square socket with high rims to secure the inkwell. The corners of the rims are decorated with applied chased five-petal fantasy buds, while the center of each of the four sides features inserts of oval lilac cabochons (likely amethysts or chalcedonies) in smooth collet sets. The front side of the plaque features an applied oval medallion flanked by acanthus leaves, bearing a commemorative inscription and date: "ЯЛТА // 1913" (YALTA // 1913).
