Table desk stand (inkstand) executed in the Neoclassical style. The set consists of a hexagonal inkwell and a semi-oval stand. The inkwell is made of hexagonal cut glass; the body is decorated with faceted squares, and the base features engraved rosette. The piece is fitted with a silver neck mount and a hinged, interior-gilt lid with a flat top. The collar mount of the neck is adorned with a raised frieze in the form of a ribbon-tied laurel branch. A matching raised laurel garland encircles the rim of the lid.
The semi-oval stand is crafted from deep-red speckled griotte marble. The stone base is enhanced by an applied silver plaquette with a hexagonal socket for the inkwell and a recessed pen tray (groove). The contours of the socket and the pen tray are accented by two applied raised garlands of laurel leaves.
