A box in a metallic rectangular case, featuring a diamond-shaped mesh pattern of golden arrows, leaves, and red circles over white enamel background. When the mechanism is turned on, the lid opens automatically, and a miniature bird in black, orange, light brown, yellow, green, and blue feathers appears on a field with an openwork gilded grille; the bird spins in place, flaps its wings, and opens and closes its beak, while the sound mechanism replicates clear bird chirping. At the end of the performance, the bird retracts into a recess in the openwork grille, and the lid closes. The bird mechanism is driven by a spring with a fusee – a movement stabilization system. A winding key is in the set.
