Singing bird box in a silver-gilded casket-shaped case; the side panels are decorated with relief ornamentation over guilloché surface, with relief foliage ornamentation on the vertical ribs. On the right, there is an opening with a key-wind pin featuring decorative bushing. In the center is an oval opening bordered by a double goldish frame with relief and engraved ornamentation. On the bottom panel of the case is a guilloché field with an engraved bouquet inside a quatrefoil frame, with flowers and foliage scrolls on the sides. On the front right side is a sliding lever to activate the bird mechanism.
When the mechanism is turned on, the oval lid opens automatically, and a miniature bird in colorful feathers with red-tipped wings and tail appears on a golden field with engraved foliage ornamentation; the bird spins, turns its head, flaps its wings, moves its tail, and opens and closes its beak, while the bellows-driven sound mechanism replicates bird chirping. At the end of the performance, the bird retracts, and the lid closes.
