Mounted on the top panel of an oval black wooden base raised on four turned supports is a cardboard model featuring a tower on the left side, surrounded by steep-roofed buildings standing on the rocky, plant-covered shore of a bay, and a paddle steamer tossing on the waves on the right side. When the mechanisms are wound and switched on, one of two melodies plays: a small figure of a sentinel near the tower moves in a circle inside the parapet, and the steamer rocks on the waves.
