The gold snuffbox features an oval body with a hinged lid. The lid and the base are decorated along the contour by a border with a relief ornament in the form of alternating twigs with gold leaves on white enamel and multi-colored enameled and chased garlands. On the lid with a guilloché surface, there is an oval medallion depicting a loving couple and a cupid, situated outdoors under a tree with the inscription “Amor”. On the side surface of the body, rectangular guilloché sections with indentations at the corners, surrounded by a frame of white enamel, are separated by shaped columns with a relief foliate ornament of multi-colored enamel. The inner sides of the lid and the base are mirror-polished, with three rubbed marks: manufacturer's mark “FS”, an “Alaterre” rosette, and the letter “K”. The guilloché on the lid, the bottom panel of the base, and the side surface is in the form of vertically staggered rows of wavy and linear rectangles.
