The top of the lid features the intricate hardstone inlay depicting three antique vases set upon a marble tabletop with a molded, shaped edge. The gold mounts framing the lid and side panels are decorated with a chased regular geometric ornament. The bottom of the snuffbox features a mosaic lapis lazuli panel depicting a similar tabletop upon which rests a single vase, accentuated with green ornamental stone along its rim.
