    Mark on the rim (bezel) – master's mark "LT" in a lozenge; French gold warranty mark in the form of a hexagon containing right-facing profile of Hippocrates and the standard number "3" (used since 1838). On the front rim – inscription "MAl Bernard Joaillier a Paris". Stamped number "322" on the rim. On the lid – monograms "AO" and "LF"

    Cartouche-shaped gold snuffbox featuring a hinged lid that conceals a tobacco compartment with mirror-polished surface. Inset into the lid are two oval medallions containing the monograms “A.O.” – of His Royal Highness Prince Antoine d'Orléans, Duke of Montpensier (31.07.1824-05.02.1890), the 6th son of Louis Philippe, King of France, and “L.F.” – of his spouse, Doña María Luisa Fernanda de Borbón y Borbón-Dos, Infanta of Spain (30.01.1832-02.02.1897), the youngest daughter of Fernando VII, King of Spain.

    The monograms are executed against a translucent emerald-green enamel background over reeded engine-turning, surrounded by the ornament of foliate scrolls and surmounted by a crown, all within a chased gold border with leaves against translucent blue enamel background over reeded engine-turning. The front section of the lid features a chased thumbpiece; the side walls and the base are decorated with gold floral patterns against translucent blue enamel background over engine-turning.
