Rectangular yellow gold snuffbox with rounded corners, featuring a hinged lid that conceals tobacco compartment with mirror-polished interior surfaces. Positioned in the center of the lid against blue engine-turned (guilloché) enamel background is an oval medallion with polychrome enamel miniature depicting the Chalis Satoon (Hall of Forty Pillars) pavilion in the Allahabad Fort on the Yamuna (Jumna) River, set against a translucent sunset.
The scene is executed after a 1795 aquatint by Thomas Daniell from his graphic series "Oriental Scenery". The painted inlay is enclosed within a natural pearl frame; the corners of the lid are adorned with pearl clusters, and its rim is accentuated by a pearl border (string).

The center of the bottom features an oval medallion with a polychrome enamel floral composition. The border of the bottom medallion, the corner garlands, and the edge of the base mirror the compositional layout of the lid, but are executed as raised gold half-beads instead of pearls. The side walls of the body are decorated with engraved gold garlands and rococo (rocaille) scrolls against blue engine-turned enamel ground.
