Oval-shaped gold snuffbox featuring a hinged lid. The lid and the bottom of the box are decorated along the perimeter with ornamental border featuring raised pattern of alternating sprays with gold leaves against white enamel background and multicoloured chased enamelled garlands. The top of the lid features engine-turned (guilloché) ground centred with an oval medallion containing painted composition depicting a couple in love and Cupid, set against landscape beneath a tree inscribed "Amor". Side walls of the body are decorated with rectangular reserves with regular engine-turned pattern and canted (recessed) corners. Enamel inlays are enclosed in narrow white enamel frames and visually separated by raised shaped columns featuring floral ornament executed in multicoloured enamel.
