Marked on the bottom with the mark of master Johann Wilhelm Keibel (1809–1862) "Keibel," flanked by two city marks of Saint Petersburg corresponding to the 1818-1864 period (crossed anchors and a scepter in a circular shield), and flanked above and below by two assay master marks of Alexander Ilyich Yashinov (1795–1826) in rectangular shield "А.Я". Marked on the lid with the mark of master Johann Wilhelm Keibel (1809–1862) "Keibel"
The circular gold powder compact features a hinged lift-top lid. The face of the lid and the exterior of the bottom are decorated with circular rosettes featuring a stylized flower in the center, set against a regular trellis (mesh) background. The central medallions are enclosed within strict square frames with a geometric guilloché pattern. The entire perimeter of the body rim is adorned with the decorative border featuring alternating bands of smooth, polished gold and textured zones that realistically imitate snakeskin.
