Oval-shaped gold snuffbox fitted with a hinged lid. The sides of the body and the lid are decorated with a rhythmic pattern of alternating smooth and ribbed vertical stripes. This regular decoration is enhanced by shaped quadrilobe reserves featuring chased depictions of allegorical trophies: four reserves are located on the sides of the body, and one large reserve is centered on the lid. The rim of the lid and the lower third of the box's body are framed by elegant raised friezes of C-scrolls and acanthus leaves. The polished inside of the lid is engraved with a monogram in the form of an artistically designed letter 'E'.
