Oval-shaped gold snuffbox fitted with a hinged lid. The sides of the body are decorated with alternating raised elements in the form of fluted semi-columns and octagonal reserves featuring stylized foliate rosettes and lozenges. The architectural rhythm of the sides is further enhanced by four circular medallions with chased depictions of allegorical trophies. The top of the lid is adorned with a large central medallion featuring a chased musical trophy, flanked on both sides by raised fluted semi-columns. The entire perimeter of the lid's rim is highlighted by an elegant frieze of stylized leaves and shells.
