Silver ladle designed in the Neo-Russian style. The body features a smooth, four-sided silhouette with rounded corners and a high, shaped back wall. The prow of the ladle is visually centered on a large, green semi-precious gemstone cabochon, set within a chased relief vignette of volutes and scrolls. The high back wall with a rounded top is decorated with an inset circular medallion featuring a finely painted enamel miniature; it depicts a half-length portrait of a bowing boyar in an ornate kaftan (traditional tunic), holding a tray with the traditional offering of bread and salt.
