The body of the piece is designed with naturalistic raised folds and creases tapering toward the neck, which is cinched by an applied gilded cord. The rim opens into a lavish, pleated ruffle. The textured surface of the walls is decorated with an embossed vegetal arabesque ornament featuring stylized scrolls, shoots, and floral motifs that imitate patterned fabric. The front side features an underglaze polychrome painting depicting a kingfisher with vibrant blue plumage perched on a blossoming cherry branch.
