A pair of Art Nouveau vases made of glazed ceramics. The body of each piece is designed in dynamic, undulating sculptural forms. The textured surface of the walls imitates basketry weaving; the sides are emphasized by a vertical raised border in the form of a twisted cord. Set against the patterned woven background is an applied sculptural decoration in the form of a grapevine with leaves and clusters of berries: the molded leaves are executed in rich green tones, while the berries feature pink and purple shades. The reverse side of the vases is decorated with an underglaze painted depiction of a large butterfly.
