The sculpture depicts a woman seemingly emerging from a fantastical flower. Large petals surround the shoulders and are repeated around the head, while the lower part develops into stylized leaves and a stem. Gilt bronze is combined with polychrome enamel in warm red, yellow, green and turquoise tones. The round red marble base complements the work’s saturated color scheme. The image of the “flower woman” derives from Art Nouveau aesthetics, characterized by the fusion of the human figure with vegetal forms.
