The gold snuffbox features a cylindrical body with a detachable top lid. In the center of the top lid, there is a circular medallion with a painted enamel portrait of a young woman holding one red rose in her hand and another in her hair. The image is bordered by a thin engraved ring under translucent green enamel and a chain of translucent diamonds. Depicted around the circumference are green enamel leaves and blue quatrefoils on a concentric engraved ring field. The side surface is smooth and matted. The lower rim of the body and the lid rim are decorated with an engraved foliate ornament with circular rosettes. In the center of the bottom surface of the body, there is a composition of scrolls and leaves, surrounded along the perimeter by a foliate ornament with circular rosettes on a matted ground. The inner surfaces of the snuffbox are mirror-polished.
