The gold snuffbox features a elongated oval body, named "en baignoire" (French: "bathtub-shaped"), with a guilloché surface in the form of a diamond pattern of granular texture, and a hinged lid. Under the lid, there is a tobacco compartment with a mirror-polished surface. The surfaces of the lid and the bottom panel of the base are framed by a track with a wavy line and a protruding rim with a relief ornament made of yellow gold. The rim of the lid and the lower edge of the side surface are decorated with a chased border of laurel leaves and fruits. On the side surface of the body, the guilloché plaques are separated by relief compositions of musical instruments and love attributes on a matted ground within a shaped frame.
