The snuffbox features a gold body of a rectangular shape with chamfered vertical edges and a hinged lid. On the lid, there is a polychrome enamel image executed in the en plein technique with the plot "Angelica and Medoro", referring to the chivalric romance "Orlando Furioso" by the Italian writer Ludovico Ariosto: a youth sitting under a tree, and a girl in a white dress embracing him. To the right, a row of pyramidal trees receding into the distance, a curved tree with partially exposed roots against a bright blue sky. The miniature is enclosed in a frame with a golden ornament on a field of white enamel. Under the lid, there is a tobacco compartment with marks on the mirror-polished surface of the base. The bottom panel of the base features a ribbed texture within vertically staggered diamonds, enclosed in a frame of white enamel. The side surface is decorated with bands of blue and white enamel and framed by chased patterns with a relief foliate zigzag ornament on a matted ground along the upper and lower edges. On the chamfered vertical edges, there is a foliate ornament in a golden border on a field of white enamel.
