The snuffbox features a gold cartouche-shaped body with a hinged lid. The protruding lid and the bottom panel of the base are executed in moss agate with an exquisite natural pattern of brown tones, with faceted edges. The rims of the lid, the base, and the side surface are decorated with chased patterns with a relief floral ornament. A thumbpiece for opening is located on the front side of the profiled edge of the lid. The snuffbox is stored in a case made of gray split leather.
