A pair of biconical ceramic vases (with an upper flare and a lower base) joined at the center by a rounded, bulbous knop. The body of each piece is decorated with polychrome enamel and gold. The surfaces of the upper and lower cones feature depictions of blooming chrysanthemums and thistles with branches and leaves, enhanced by expressive gilded accents. The rounded central elements of the vases are decorated with contrasting geometric patterns in the form of checkered and grid motifs, executed in red-and-gold and black-and-gold palettes.
