The automaton in the form of a girl-magician is mounted on rectangular wooden base covered in dark brown velvet, with four turned feet. To the right of the magician's figure is a puppet theatre.
The control mechanism and the musical movement with musical comb, pinned cylinder, and spring drive are housed inside the base, with a winding key and an on/off button located on the backside. When the spring is wound and the mechanism is activated, a melody plays, the cube lid is closed, and the stage is empty; the magician raises the lid and shows the inside of the empty cube, then all three puppet heads appear, and as she waves her left hand holding a feather, a puppet head emerges from the cube, while the corresponding head in the middle of the stage disappears. This same head reappears on the stage when the magician demonstrates the empty cube. The girl's head tilts up and down, and turns right and left. The movements repeat several times to the musical accompaniment.
