The “Russian Dancer” is shown in energetic movement: the raised leg, flying hem and tambourine held high create an impression of rapid dance. The bright costume with red boots and headdress heightens the theatrical effect. Polychrome bronze contrasts with pale ivory face and raised hand, while the black marble base intensifies the saturated colors.
