A sculptural image depicting two seasoned Cossack warriors ascending a steep mountain is set on a hollow square stand with a massive convex terrain that renders a rocky mountainside in high relief. The soldiers wear tall, shaggy papakha hats and belted beshmet coats with gazyri cartridge slots. One warrior, carrying a dagger and a pistol tucked into his belt, sits upright in his saddle, clutching the reins with his left hand and extending his right hand forward. His horse, fitted with leather harness under a uniform saddle, moves at a broad stride. The other rider, with a bashlyk hood over his shoulders, a cased rifle on a strap, and a nagaika whip in his right hand, pulls back on the reins to check his steed.
