A casket (lidded box) made of clear colorless glass resting on four feet, with a removable hipped cover. The entire surface of the casket is decorated with polychrome enamel and gold painting. The broad sides are decorated with shaped reserves. One of them depicts a pelican in her piety (feeding her chicks with her own blood) against a foliate background; the other shows a crowned Virgin enthroned, surrounded by deer. The narrow side walls are adorned with quatrefoils featuring floral arabesques. All reserves are set against a blue enamel ground featuring scrolling floral shoots.
